Product details
Ecowitt WH41 Outdoor Air Quality PM2.5 Sensor
The Ecowitt WH41 is a wireless PM2.5 air quality sensor designed to monitor fine particulate matter in both indoor and outdoor environments. It provides real-time data on air quality.
Features
- Real-Time PM2.5 Monitoring: Measures fine particulate matter (PM2.5) concentrations, providing immediate insights into air quality levels.
- Wireless Connectivity: Transmits using Radio Frequency (RF) data up to 100 meters in open areas.
- Power Options: Operates on two rechargeable AA NiMH batteries, with a built-in solar panel for backup power. Can also be powered using a USB cable.
- Data Access: When paired with the Ecowitt Gateway (sold separately), users can view current and historical PM2.5 data via the WS View app, Web browser or a Weather server.
- Multi-Sensor Support: The Ecowitt gateways support up to four WH41 sensors, allowing for air quality monitoring across multiple locations.
Information
- A compatible Ecowitt gateway or display console is required. See compatibility table
- Rain or fog conditions can cause the sensor to report unreliable readings
- The sensor can be placed outside, however it is not waterproof and requires a sheltered location

FAQ
Which air quality parameter does it measure
The sensor specifically measures PM2.5 concentrations, which represent the fine particulate matter that can impact health and air quality.
What is the wireless range of the sensor
In open air and with a clear line of sight, the WH41 supports a transmission range of up to approximately 300 feet (100 metres)
How is the sensor powered
The WH41 is designed with rechargeable batteries complemented by an integrated solar panel backup. This dual-power setup is ideal for outdoor installations. Fully charged batteries will last 2 weeks, assuming no solar charge. If sunny conditions then expect the batteries to be charged by solar and last considerably longer.
The sensor can also be left permanently plugged in to a USB power source
Can I use multiple WH41 sensors in one setup
Yes. When used with a compatible gateway you can integrate up to four WH41 sensors. Each sensor is recognised as a new channel, allowing you to monitor multiple locations or aspects of air quality simultaneously. Ensure you are using the latest WS View App firmware (V1.4.6 or later) for multi-channel support.
How often does the sensor update its readings
The sensor updates its PM2.5 readings roughly every 10 minutes (when using battery power) and every 1 minute when powered by USB.
