Product details

The Ecowitt WH31 is a indoor wireless temperature and humidity sensor that integrates seamlessly with Ecowitt’s weather sesnor ecosystem. A built‑in LCD shows current readings, channel number and units (°C/°F). Data is broadcast to an Ecowitt gateway, which can then upload readings to a internet weather platform or local system.

Features

  • Multi‑channel support: Monitor up to 8 separate WH31 sensors from a single gateway

  • Temperature range: –10 °C to 60 °C (14 °F to 140 °F) with 0.1 °C resolution and ±1 °C accuracy.

  • Humidity range: 10 % to 99 % RH with 1 % resolution and ±5 % accuracy.

  • Long transmission: Radio Frequency (RF) broadcasting up to 100 m in open space, reporting every 61 seconds.

  • Battery‑powered: Uses two AA batteries for up to 12 months of operation.

  • Built‑in display: LCD shows temperature, humidity, channel number and unit icons (°C/°F).

  • Weather‑station integration: Streams data to Ecowitt gateways for cloud or local‑server viewing via WS View Plus.

  • Compact design: Slim profile with optional wall‑mount or hanging installation.

Information

  • To gather data from the WH31 sensor it needs to be connected to a Ecowitt gateway or console.
  • Batteries are not included
  • If connecting the WH31 sensor with a gateway or console be sure the same wireless frequency is used. For UK and EU the 868MHz should be used.

FAQ

How do I assign channels

Use the three dip‑switches inside the battery compartment to set the channel (1–8) and the fourth switch to select °C or °F. After inserting two AA batteries, verify the display shows your chosen channel number and units.

What happens when I replace the batteries on a paired sensor

If all eight channels aren’t in use, changing batteries can cause the sensor to take a new ID. To avoid this, disable any unused channel before swapping batteries so the unit can only register on one ID.

How do I pair the WH31 with an Ecowitt gateway

Simply power up the sensor while the gateway is running. The gateway auto‑learns any new WH31 units; if replacing an old sensor, unplug and re‑power the gateway so it clears its memory and learns the fresh device.

Can I use the WH31 outdoors

The WH31 isn’t weatherproof on its own. For outdoor use, mount it under eaves or inside a solar‑radiation shield accessory to protect it from rain and direct sun.

Where is the best spot to install the sensor indoors

Choose a location free from direct sunlight or nearby heat sources (radiators, appliances). Mount the unit vertically on a wall using a screw or string.

How often does the sensor report data

It broadcasts temperature and humidity readings approximately every 60 seconds to the paired gateway.

How do I know when the battery is low

A low‑battery icon appears in your gateway’s app next to that sensor’s reading

Which receivers (gateways \ consoles) work with the WH31

Most Ecowitt gateways and consoles will work with the WH31. Please check the compatibility table

What’s the difference between WH31 and WH32

The WH31 is a multi‑channel indoor temperature and humidity sensor, of which up to 8 can connect to a gateway or console. Whereas the WH32 indoor can measure temperature, humidity and pressure. Only one WH32 can connect to a gateway or console. There is also a WH32 outdoor sensor which measures temperature and humidity

The display is blank below –10 °C

Below –10 °C (14 °F), the WH31 will still transmit data to the gateway but its LCD may not display readings accurately until temperature rises above that threshold.

What warranty does it have and how do I get help

Covered by a 1‑year limited warranty against defects in materials and workmanship.

What’s the difference between the WN31 and WH31

The WH31 and WN31 refer to the identical temperature and humidity sensor with the same design, functionality, and features
