Ecowitt Lightning Detection Sensor
The Ecowitt WH57 is a smart wireless sensor designed to detect lightning strikes and storms within a 25-mile (40 km) radius. When paired with a compatible Ecowitt gateway or weather station console, it provides real-time data and alerts and monitoring lightning activity.

- Wireless Transmission: Transmits data every 79 seconds with a range of up to 100 metres (300 feet) in open areas.
- Sensitivity Settings: Selectable high, mid, or low sensitivity levels to suit various environments and reduce false alerts.
- Real-Time Monitoring: When connected to a Gateway, view daily strike counts and the time & distance of the last detected strike via the WS View Plus app.
- Display Console Compatibility: Compatible with Ecowitt consoles for real-time data display and visual alerts.
- Data Logging: Upload data to the Ecowitt Weather Server to access historical records, graphical representations, and receive email alerts.
- Installation: Includes a solar radiation \ weather shield and mounting arm for secure outdoor installation.
- Frequency Options: Available in 868 MHz for the UK and Europe, 915 MHz for North America, and 433 MHz for Oceania.

- Do not use rechargeable batteries in the lightning sensor
- A compatible gateway or display console is required
- Suitable for outdoor use as long as protected by the included weather shield
- The lightning sensor does not detect Lightning direction

Can I use multiple WH57 sensors simultaneously
No, Ecowitt gateways and consoles can only support a single WH57 sensor.
What is the Custom Mode, and how do I use it
The WH57 allows you to adjust the sensor’s sensitivity settings to suit various environments and reduce false alerts. Sensitivity levels can be set to high, mid, or low using the dip switches located above the battery compartment. Refer to the user manual for detailed instructions on configuring these settings.
