- The temperature is not permanently displayed on the thermometer. A button on the thermometer must be pressed
- Check the compatibility table to see with displays and gateways work with the pool thermometer
- The batteries can not be replaced. Expect about 3 year battery life.
- The thermometer has a hole for attaching string, allowing it to be anchored to a fix location

What type of water can the WN36 be used in
The WN36 is suitable for use in pools, ponds, hot tubs, aquariums, water tanks, and livestock water troughs. It’s designed for freshwater use and performs best in outdoor or semi-sheltered conditions.
Does the WN36 display the temperature on the device itself
Yes, it has a built-in display that shows the current water temperature, so you can check it instantly without needing a receiver.
How does the thermometer send data wirelessly
The WN36 uses RF signal to transmit data to a compatible Ecowitt gateway or weather station (sold separately). It does not use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth directly. A Ecowitt gateway \ display console is required for local network or internet access.
What’s the wireless range
It has a transmission range of up to 100 metres (line of sight). Actual range may vary depending on walls, trees, or other obstacles.
Is it waterproof
Yes, the unit is designed to float and is fully weatherproof. However, it should not be submerged completely underwater.
Can I use this with my smartphone
Yes, if you pair it with a compatible Ecowitt gateway (like the GW1100 or GW2000), you can view data remotely through the Ecowitt app or web dashboard.
Does it work with smart home systems
Indirectly. If you’re using an Ecowitt gateway that supports API access or integration platforms (like Home Assistant), you can connect it with other smart home setups.
Is any other equipment needed to use the WN36
